London, Jan 7 (ANI): Amy Winehouse has dropped her appeal against illegal possession of marijuana in Norway, and has accepted the fine.

The 'Back to Back' hitmaker was arrested along with husband Blake Fielder-Civil and her hairdresser in the city of Bergen in October 2007 after they were found with seven grammes of the illegal drug.

However, the trio was freed after paying the fine of 294 pounds.

The 25-year-old later contested the fine, claiming she was unaware paying the amount was the equivalent of admitting her guilt. She was to appear in the Norway court on January 12.

According to lawyer Ole Kvelstad, Winehouse was decided to drop her appeal against the case.

"After a careful review of the whole matter, they decided to drop the appeal," the Daily Express quoted Kvelstad as saying.

Kvelstad refused to divulge any details regarding the decision to withdraw the appeal.(ANI)
