Eva Mendes makes her mother feel proud

London, Jan 6 (IANS) Hollywood actress Eva Mendes served up a special treat for her mother at the premiere of her latest film 'The Spirit' because it was at the cinema where the latter once worked.

Contactmusic.com reports that Mendes invited 15 members of her family to the screening at Hollywood's Mann's Chinese Theatre last month and she admits her mother was as excited about the location as she was for the film itself.

'My mother worked there on weekends... like, in the 1980s when they wore these long, beautiful geisha gowns, and I would go with her. She worked at the gift shop and sometimes she would work in the theatre,' Mendes said.

'So taking her back the other night to where she used to be an employee, and taking her as my mother and my date (made her feel) very proud,' she added.
