Lahore, Jan.6 (ANI): Pakistan's leg spinner Danish Kaneria has said that he is hopeful of making a come back to Pakistan's one day squad.

Kaneria said that the fact the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) now has officials who themselves were international players would help his cause.

"PCB director general Javed Miandad has been a big supporter and he has always guided me in my career," the Daily Times quoted Kaneria, as saying.

"Chief selector Abdul Qadir is a leg spinner himself and has played in one-day internationals, so he knows the importance of having specialist spinners in limited-overs cricket," he added.

Kaneria, who has been sidelined from international cricket by Pakistan, played his last one day game during the World Cup in 2007.

Kaneria has featured mainly in test matches for Pakistan but in the last one year Pakistan has not played a single test match at home or away, depriving him of any international exposure.

With the Sri Lanka tour round the corner Kaneria is hoping of getting a call from the national selectors.

"I have been bowling regularly in one-day and Twenty 20 cricket for my English county Essex, and even in our domestic cricket for Sindh and Habib Bank Limited. So I am prepared whenever the opportunity comes my way," he said. (ANI)
