New Delhi, Jan 5 (ANI): Air Marshal TS Randhawa has taken over as Director General (Inspection and Safety) here today.
An alumnus of 38th NDA course, the Air Marshal has over 3000 hours of flying to his credit. He was the Leader of the 'Thunderbolts', the Indian Air Force Nine aircraft aerobatic team of the 1980s.
During his illustrious career, he held a number of important staff and field appointments. He has served as the Chief Operations Officer at a frontline Air Force Base and also commanded a premier Flying Station.
He was in charge of all fighter operations in South Western Air Command from 2002 - 2004.
Prior to this appointment he held the most prestigious tri service appointment of the Commandant National Defence Academy for over two years.
During this, he led his staff to successfully conduct various events as part of the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of his Alma Mater, which were attended by the President and the three Chiefs.
He is the Commodore Commandant of the 'lightnings', 20 squadron which is based at Lohagaon in Pune and is equipped with the formidable Sukhoi-30 MKI fighter aircraft. (ANI)
