'Slumdog Millionaire' honoured with Best Cinematography gong

New York, Jan 4 (ANI): 'Slumdog Millionaire', a rags-to-riches tale shot with handheld digital cameras in Mumbai, has been honoured with best cinematography prize by the National Society of Film Critics.

 

'Slumdog Millionaire' is a fictitious story about an 18-year-old Indian, who wins India's version of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire, reports the New York Daily News.

 

'Waltz with Bashir,' an animated documentary about Israel's 1982 invasion of Lebanon, received best picture award.

 

Sean Penn walked away with best actor gong for his performance in 'Milk,' a biopic about the pioneering gay politician Harvey Milk.

 

'Happy-Go-Lucky,' a heart-warming tale about a cheerily optimistic London school teacher, came away with four of the 10 awards for 2008 films, including best actress for Sally Hawkins and best director for Mike Leigh.

 

'Man on Wire,' about tightrope walker Phillipe Petit's astonishing trek across the World Trade Center towers in 1974, took the best non-fiction award. (ANI)
