Amy Winehouse's new addiction - her sunbed!

London, July 8 (ANI): Troubled singer Amy Winehouse can't seem to stop herself from getting hooked to things she likes a taste of. This time the new addiction being her sunbed.

Pals close to the Rehab singer are worried about this new addiction as she spends more than an hour a day absorbing its rays in a desperate attempt to get back to brown.

What is worse is that the 24-year-old singer often dozes off under the ultraviolet lamps, which release the same type of harmful radiation found in sunlight.

"Amy can't do anything by halves. Recently she has been going for it on the sunbed, but she won't be told," the Sun quoted a friend of hers as saying.

"She bought it to get rid of scabs that started appearing on her skin," the friend said.

The sunbed had been fitted at her home in Camden, North London, earlier this year, and Babyshambles frontman Pete Doherty, 29, had even had a go at it, but hurt his eyes after he refused to wear safety goggles.

"Over the years Amy has been addicted to alcohol, all sorts of drugs, men and even knitting," the pal stated.

"This is another addiction that puts her health in danger.

"Why can't she take up squash or something?" the pal added.

According to Sun doctor Carol Cooper: This level of sunbed exposure goes beyond any recommendations.

Normally, each session should last no more than 15-20 minutes, with 48 hours between sessions to allow the skin to recover. (ANI)
