Diddy denies using celeb status for entry to Obama's swearing-in

Washington, Jan 3 (ANI): American rapper Diddy's representatives have denied claims that he wanted to attend President-elect Barack Obama's swearing-in ceremony by using his celebrity status and not by paying for a ticket.

A New York Post report recently said that unlike other fellow Hollywood types, who had donated 50,000 dollars to the inauguration committee to help cover some of the costs of the celebration, Diddy wanted a free pass.

"The story is ridiculous and untrue," E!Online quoted Diddy's publicist Keesha Johnson as saying.

"Diddy was offered tickets by the Obama inaugural committee because of his work on the campaign trail with Jay-Z, Mary J. Blige and Kevin Liles. He never asked for tickets, and he was never asked to pay for them," she added.

For Diddy, he is just happy to be a part of the celebrations.

"I am very grateful to be a part of this moment in history. Happy New Year and I'll see y'all at the inauguration!" he added. (ANI)
