PM sanctions compensation for Guwahati blast victims

New Delhi, Jan 2 (IANS) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh Friday sanctioned compensation of Rs.200,000 to the next of kin of each of those killed and Rs.100,000 each to those seriously injured in the bomb blasts in Guwahati Thursday.

 

Manmohan Singh also expressed his grief over the loss of life in the blasts, an official statement said.

 

 

The compensation will be released from the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.

 

 

Three explosions rocked Guwahati city Thursday late afternoon, two in crowded market places and another inside a roadside garbage bin, killing six people.
