London, July 8 (ANI): Former chief executive of Hewlett-Packard, Carly Fiorina, has indicated that she is open to the idea of being Republican presidential nominee John McCain's running mate.

Fiorina, who has emerged as one of the most prominent economic faces of McCain's campaign, said: "There are many, many people who would be honoured to serve in President McCain's cabinet and, depending on the opportunities, I would be as well."

According to The Telegraph, Fiorina has often presented McCain's case on the economy. She also heads the party's fundraising organisation in preparation for the November election.

In addition to the vice president's job, Fiorina is being spoken of for a number of other possible cabinet positions such as the post of Commerce Secretary.

Countering accusations that the world of business was an unsuitable preparation for White House politics, she said: "There are a lot of things about managing efficiently and effectively and transparently that we can borrow from business." (ANI)
