Pakistan should come out of denial mode: Anand Sharma
Chandigarh, Dec.31 (ANI): Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma on Wednesday said that Pakistan should come out of denial mode and bring the perpetrators of the Mumbai terror attacks to justice.
"It'll be good that if the acknowledgement is forthright. This fact isnown to the world that where the perpetrators (of Mumbai terror attacks) came from, where those organisations are based, the conspirators which have been identified and named. And instead of being in denial, Pakistan should take effective steps to bring to justice the conspirators and funders," said Sharma at a press conference here today.
choing External Affairs Minister Pranab Mukherjee's stand, Sharma said India has never talked of conflict.
"We have never talked of a conflict. We have not created any escalation and it is unwarranted that it was been done," he said.
Sharma, however, refused to comment on media reports that suggest that Pakistan is under tremendous pressure from the US to extradite alleged Lashker-e-Taiba operations commander Zakiur Rahman Lakhvi, the mastermind of the Mumbai terror attack.
"Islamabad should respond to the US about it," Sharma said. (ANI)
