Sand artist creates Obama's image on Orissa beach

Bhubaneswar, Dec 30 (IANS) Sculptor Sudarsan Pattnaik has created the sand image of US president-elect Barack Obama on Orissa's Puri beach.

Pattnaik, a world renowned sand artist, said in a statement that he had created the sand image by using 10 tonnes of sand.

He worked for five hours to create the image, which was appreciated by the people who had gathered at the beach.

'Obama is a popular figure of 2008. So I created his sculpture,' he said.
