Tom Cruise determined to be a great dad

London, Dec 30 (ANI): Hollywood actor Tom Cruise has vowed to be a dedicated father in order to make up for the difficult relationship he had with his own dad.

Cruise has two adopted kids - Isabella, 16, and Connor, 13 - from his marriage to Nicole Kidman, and daughter Suri with his wife Katie Holmes.

And the actor has confessed that he is very much a hands-on parent after being brought up without a father figure from the age of 12, when his dad Thomas Cruise Mapother III split from his mother Mary.

"I'm a great parent. I want to be with my kids, and they get to do all the stuff that I wanted to do when I was growing up. My own father wasn't there much for me and I want to be a different dad to my kids. My family is the most important thing in my life," the Sun quoted Cruise, as saying.

Cruise also revealed that he was determined not to let his divorce from Kidman affect his relationship with their adopted kids.

"Nic and I are very committed and successful in sharing the parenting," he added. (ANI)
