Lucknow, Dec 29(IANS) Three people were arrested in Allahabad district of Uttar Pradesh Monday for smuggling in explosives from Madhya Pradesh. A huge cache of explosives was recovered from them, police said.
'The arrests were made in Shankargarh locality. We recovered 7.5 quintals of ammonium nitrate and over a hundred detonators. Initial interrogation has revealed that the explosives were brought from neighbouring Madhya Paradesh,' Superintendent of Police (Trans Yamuna) V.K. Mishra told IANS on phone.
'One person managed to escape and we will reveal the identity of the three arrested people only after completing their interrogation,' Mishra added.
