London, Dec 28 (ANI): The number of Brits travelling to the US next year has jumped, all thanks to Barack Obama's historic win, a Foreign Office survey revealed.
According to the Sun, 13 percent more Brits are set to visit the USA in 2009 because of "Obamarama."
Based on 2,018 UK adults' responses, the survey in co-operation with Abta also found countries outside the eurozone such as Turkey, Egypt and Mexico are set to see a significant increase in British visitors in 2009.
Other likely hotspots include Poland, Croatia, Iceland, Israel and Cuba 41 percent who plan to go abroad in 2009 will reduce the number of holidays they take in the year ahead.
Frances Tuke from Abta said: "Over the past few years we have seen travellers becoming more adventurous and travelling further afield and this will continue in 2009 as non-eurozone countries will offer very good value for money - often at very high standards."
Julian Braithwaite, director of consular services at the Foreign Office, said: "Many of the changes that we'll see taking place across the travel industry over the next year will have a direct impact on the welfare of British holidaymakers." (ANI)
