Rooney and wife Coleen's £300k Christmas gifts for each other

London, Dec 28 (ANI): Wayne Rooney and his wife Coleen forked out 300,000 pounds on Christmas gifts for each other.

The Manchester United star, 23, spent 70,000 pounds on a diamond-encrusted Rolex for Coleen while she bought him an 80,000 pounds luxury Panerai watch after nipping to the same jewellers while he was in Japan helping his side win the World Club Cup.

Wayne had also bought Coleen a second 150,000 pounds Bentley and a gold necklace.

"They wanted to surprise each other but ended up secretly going to the same shop. It wasn't until Christmas morning they realised what had happened. They loved their presents," News of the World quoted a pal, as saying.

"They wanted to buy each other a special gift and thought it was symbolic they had the same idea for their first Christmas as a married couple," the pal added.

A source said: "They knew a few of the gifts they were getting. Coleen already has a Bentley but she wanted the new version in a different colour.

"And she asked for a white gold necklace which spells out her name. She also has one of them, but it is in yellow gold," the source added. (ANI)
