However, as per latest report the top governing body BCCI asked the three to sit out from the tournament. Reason for this is yet to clear whether it is the player’s decision or the management.
Meanwhile, the National Selection Committee chief Dilip Vengsarkar has expressed it as the player’s decision not to participate in the tournament. But that doesn’t seem clear from any angle as all three are fully fit and currently playing in England Test series.
It appears as if the management had made it clear to promote youngster by giving them chance in more and more tournaments where they can attest their talent. It was India’s world cup debacle performance that points up the recent turnaround.
Reportedly Sachin, Sourav as well as Dravid were eager to take part in the tournament as it is the inaugural World Cup in this new form of cricket. Keeping an eye on the 2011 World Cup, it is also good to promote young blood in such high energetic matches which will indeed prove their ability of handling pressure.
As per the concern this kind lively tricky matches where winning margin is very less needs good captaincy. Only this is the area India may lack as the aggressive captaincy of Ganguly was the need of the hour. This will further give a chance to wicketkeeper Dhoni, all-rounder Yuvraj Singh and even Shehwag who are in the probable list to take the job.
Twenty20 World Cup championships will for sure a golden chance for youngsters like Joginder Sharma, Manoj Tiwary, Niranjan Behara, Aniruddh Srikkanth, Praveen Kumar, Neeraj Patel, Karan Goel, Cheteshwar Pujara, Abhishek Jhunjhunwala who are in the probable 30 list. However, it will be a tough job for all as Indian players are not comfortable in the tricky bouncy wicket of South Africa.
