Mohali (Punjab), Dec 23 (IANS) Bad light and dense fog robbed almost a day's play in the second cricket Test between India and England that ended in a tame draw at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here Tuesday.

Match officials here said that in all 85 overs of play were lost due to poor weather conditions. As many as 90 overs are bowled in a day's play.

'It was a good wicket and but 80-90 overs were wasted due to poor light,' Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni said.

The opening day of the Test Friday saw poor light amid overcast wintry conditions which delayed the match for nearly 30 minutes. The play also got over early, 18 overs short.

The second day saw nine overs being bowled short due to poor light in the evening even though the game started 30 minutes early.

During the last three days of the Test, dense fog descended on the playing area, reducing visibility to almost zero.
