UPA has no right to rule: Advani
In the light of latest development of Samajwadi Party's favour to the nuclear deal, citing it in “national interest” and thus its veiled support to the UPA government in case of Left's pulling out support, the chief opposition party, BJP dubbed the government as “ineffective” and called for an immediate vote of confidence.

He said the UPA government has lost the people's confidence and thus has no right to stay in power.
“The Manmohan Singh government has been reduced to a charade and lost its majority in the House—it has already lost its moral legitimacy,” said senior BJP leader and the prime ministerial candidate L K Advani at a press conference in Delhi Saturday.
Sooner or later the Left will withdraw support; in this perspective, the ruling government should clear the uncertainty hanging over the government 'to fall' or 'not to fall,' and advised the Prime Minister to seek the confidence of the House and move a vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha, which is his moral responsibility.
"Even though normally the house is to meet sometime in August, in view of the present situation, my party demands that a session of parliament be immediately convened and Manmohan Singh seek the confidence of the house and move a vote of confidence in the Lok Sabha," said Advani.
In my six decades of political life, I have never seen such a feeble government, which has made mockery of itself. The government, which has breached its people for putting extra economic burden on them by not attempting seriously to curb the price rise, has no right to rule. The rift between the UPA government and the Left is not concealed to anyone. Their differences have paralysed the government for over 18 months and today the UPA government has been converted into “theatre of the absurd,” Advani added.
The UPA-government is indulged in trading off with the Samajwadi Party to save the government at any cost, even it has brought the prestige of the nation at stake. We believe India needs energy for its power sector and for that nuclear deal is essential, but we deny to accept the deal in present form. Advani urged the people to vote his party to power, and the BJP would re-negotiate the deal with the US.
The opportunist Congress proliferating at getting the back of Samajwadi Party has neglected the Left 's demand from the government to clear its stand before July 07, if it was approaching the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to finalise the deal on India-specific safeguards. The Left leaders further said if the government dares to do so, it would immediately withdraw their support.
Advani further said if the government do not seek vote of confidence, after Left's withdrawal his party would bring no-confidence motion against the UPA government. He also dubbed the probable Congress-SP alliance as “opportunistic” that are coming closer for mere political gains.
