London, July 5 (ANI): Iconic TV dating show 'Blind Date' will soon be back - and with a new twist.
The show's rebirth is thanks to Simon Cowell who bought a share in its rights.
He and hit producers behind Britain's Got Talent and X Factor are now set to revamp the show.
An ITV source The Sun that the new Blind Date could be the biggest telly show in 2009.
"Blind Date is an incredible show. We've got a lot of new ideas - this could be the biggest show of next year," the source said.
"It would have all the elements of Blind Date plus the best bits of Britain's Got Talent and X Factor."
Added an ITV source: "We were offered another dating show, but Peter thinks Blind Date is one of the most iconic ITV shows of all time. It's early days, but it's looking very hopeful."
The original Blind Date went off the screen five years ago in 2003, with host Cilla Black sensationally quitting on air during the first ever live show.
She had been presenting it for 18 years. (ANI)
