Leh, (J-K), Dec 20 (ANI): Ice-Hockey players in Leh demanded the affiliation of the game with the Sports Council and basic facilities for the development of the game.
People associated with the game feel that lack of infrastructure is coming in the way of producing quality players.
"If boys are provided with better infrastructure and training facilities then they will perform better. Since these boys are laborious and possess good stamina, they can be better players," said Phuntsog Chosgyal, International Coach and National Ice Hockey Player.
Since the game is also not affiliated with the Sports Council, players are deprived of many benefits and concessions provided to other players.
"We have sent a request to the national federation that kindly associate ice-hockey with the Sports Council so that our boys can avail benefits as provided to other players and they can get recruitment in other departments too," said Aman Ali Khan, General Secretary Kargil Ice and Snow Sporting Club.
