New Delhi, Dec 20 (ANI): Muslim leaders including leading Bollywood actor Shabana Azmi participated in 'Muslims Initiative Against Terrorism' conference here last evening.
Azmi criticised Union Minister for Minority Affairs A.R. Antulay for his remarks expressing doubt on the killing of Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) chief Hemant Karkare by militants during the recent Mumbai attacks.
"Muslims should not get complacent thinking that they have already done enough to prove that they are against terrorism because we have people like Antulay. If we take one step forward, they push us fifty steps backwards and create problems for us," said Azmi.
Addressing the conference, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind leader Mehmood Madani praised Muslims for openly condemning the barbaric act of militancy and said that the large participation of the community protesting the acts of terror were a proof of it.
"If Muslims support terrorism, they would have never come out in large numbers to protest against it," said Madani. (ANI)
