Pakistan mulling Mumbai terror attacks joint probe with Britain

Lahore, Fri, 19 Dec 2008 ANI

Lahore, Dec.19 (ANI): After snubbing the offer of a joint probe in the Mumbai terror attacks by the United Kingdom, Pakistan is now reconsidering its decision.

"The final decision about the Pakistan-UK joint probe would be made by parliament," the Daily Times quoted President Asif Ali Zardari, as saying.

Earlier, on his visit to Islamabad, the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown had offered a joint investigation of the suspects arrested following a crackdown after the Mumbai attacks.

But Pakistan denied of any joint probe on the issue. It formally informed the UK about the offer's rejection, the paper reported.

However, the government officials in Pakistan have denied that the UK Government was informed about the rejection of the joint probe offer. (ANI)
