Gonda (UP), Dec 19 (ANI): People are facing tough time in Uttar Pradesh's Gonda district due to heavy fog.
The traffic moved at a snail's pace for most part of the day as the roads remained enveloped by thick blanket of fog leading to poor visibility.
People lit bonfire, the time-tested method of warding-off cold wave or they preferred to stay inside their dwellings.
"Fog has affected life in the past three to four days. Because of this, people prefer to stay back inside their homes," said Ranm Kumar Gupta, a resident.
Moreover, the fog, accompanied by cold wave has hit the labourers of the region who are facing difficulties in getting work.
"The severe cold which is affecting the demand for manual labour as people think that the pace of workers in doing work would be hampered by fog. For last 15 days, we are witnessing this phenomenon which has led to loss of work for us," said Shiv Shankar, a labourer, who travels about 24 kilometres every day to come to the city market in search of work.
