A.R.Ansari is head of Neyveli Lignite Corp

Chennai, Dec 18 (IANS) A.R. Ansari has been appointed new chairman and managing director of the more than Rs.36 billion revenue lignite mining-cum-power generation company Neyveli Lignite Corporation Ltd (NLC).

Earlier director (Planning) at the NLC, Ansari assumes office at a time when the corporation is looking for several expansion plans.

The company has chalked out an investment plan of around Rs.500 billion to add fresh power generation capacity of 9,100 MW and a lignite mining capacity of 49.10 million tonne per annum (mtpa).

He succeeds S.Jayaraman who retired in May this year and J.N. Prasanna Kumar, director (finance), who was holding additional charge as CMD till now.
