Mumbai, Dec 18 (IANS) 'Mumbai Moment 2009' will be the theme of the state Press Club's New Year calendar, which will carry 13 images of the recent terror attacks by photo-journalists.
Seventy seven photographers, who clicked many moments of the 60-hour drama and later developments, participated in a competition and submitted 770 photographs for the calendar, a Press Club statement said here Thursday.
A jury, comprising well-known photographers Gautam Rajadhyaksha, Swapan Parekh and Mumbai Mirror executive editor Meenal Baghel, selected 13 pictures for the 2009 calendar.
The 11 photographers whose entries were selected for the calendar include Jayaprakash Kelkar (Mumbai Samachar Gujarati daily); Deepak Joshi, Kevin D'Souza and Pradeep Kochrekar (all from The Indian Express); Gautam Sen (Rashtriya Sahara); Mandar Deodar (India Today); Sachin Haralkar (Mumbai Mirror); Tejal Pandey (The Times of India); Shreeram Vernekar (The Times of India); Ramesh Nair and Vipin Pawar (both from DNA).
