New Delhi, Dec 17 (IANS) Delhi Daredevils have signed up New south Wales batsman David Warner for the Indian Premier League season in 2009.

Warner is a left-hand hard-hitting batsman and his inclusion will add momentum to the team.

Vice-president of Delhi Daredevils T.A. Sekar said they were looking forward to welcoming Warner into their squad.

'I have watched David Warner in action at both the Emerging Players tournament and Ford Ranger Cup and I have no doubt in my mind that he has great talent and an exciting player.'

The IPL will also provide Warner with an international platform to showcase his talent.

Warner is upbeat about playing in IPL. 'It's exciting. Just to be given the opportunity to go over there with the world's best players is going to be amazing.'

Warner has been signed subject to IPL guidelines, which permit signing uncapped overseas players outside the 'Players Auction'.
