'Bum-flashing' Santa cards pulled from UK stores

London, Dec 17 (ANI): Christmas cards with 'bum-flashing' Santa were pulled out from the shops after they were deemed 'inappropriate'.

The cheeky cards created by a charity called Shelter features a cartoon of Santa peeling off to hang his clothes on the washing line.

The charity aimed to make 30,000 pounds with the sale of the cards but major distributor Cards for Good Causes, which supplies more than 350 shops, has refused to stock the "inappropriate" design.

"It is very disappointing to lose 350 outlets coming so close to Christmas," the Daily Star quoted spokesman for Shelter, which intended to sell the 5,000 packs printed for 5.99 pound each as saying.

"We are continuing to sell them through our own shops but because we have so many we have had to reduce them to 2.99 pounds and even if they all go we will lose 15,000 pounds, which is a big blow," he added.

Cards for Good Causes boss Christine Holland blamed the homeless charity for not checking the design with them before the cards were printed.

"Of our 350 outlets nationwide, more than 100 are run through cathedrals and churches and the overwhelming response was that the card was inappropriate," she said. (ANI)
