Tue, 01 Jan 2008 ANI

Kathmandu, July 3 (ANI): The parliamentary session of Nepal's Constituent Assembly (CA) was disrupted for the seventh consecutive time on Thursday.

The CA session was adjourned till Friday as the Madhesi lawmakers started shouting slogans as soon as the meet began.

Madhes-based parties have been disrupting the CA meet since last Thursday pressing the government to amend the interim constitution including the agendas of the agreement signed between the government and the United Democratic Madhesi Fornt (UDMF) on February 28.

According to Kantipur, although agreement to mention the provisions of autonomous Terai region and the inclusive and proportional recruitment of the Madhesis and other groups in the Nepal Army in the interim constitution has already been reached, top brass of the big-three parties- Communist Party of Nepal-Maoist (CPN-M), Nepali Congress (NC) and Communist Party of Nepal-Unified Marxist-Leninist (CPN-UML) -have so far failed to reach consensus on the selection of phrases to be used in the supplementary amendment bill of the interim constitution incorporating the issues raised by Madhes-based parties.
