A third of women would dump their lovers over 'inadequate' X-mas gifts!
New York, Dec 12 (ANI): More than a third of women would dump their partner for giving an 'inadequate' Christmas gift, reveals a new survey, which was conducted by British dating site freedating.co.uk.
According to the study, high on the list of prohibited presents are cooking utensils, cleaning products and a tape dispenser, reports the New York Daily News.
"It would make me rethink the person I am involved with," said Loiett Gore, of Weehawken, N.J., who once broke up with a guy who got her fake jewelry.
"It wasn't the reason, but it did start a downward trend. Why give me something that could rub off?" Gore added.
Around 36 percent of women said they would dump their man for a lame gift, the survey found. Only 17 percent of men shared the same sentiment.
The wrong present led to more breakups when it followed a string of other relationship let-downs, the survey found.
The poll said that women who are highly educated - especially those in the legal field - are particularly demanding.
Lauren Mondello, 26, of Baldwin, L.I., said she may consider kicking a man to the curb for a lousy keepsake.
"For a set of knives - I probably would," she admitted.
Rutgers student Katie Antos, 18, also wouldn't go splitsville over a no-good gift, but "if I won't get anything - maybe," she said. (ANI)
