July 18: The Delhi High court on Wednesday criticised harshly the Special Investigation Team of Delhi police, set up last year for fresh investigation on Jessica murder case for citing sloppy investigation in this case. Scolding the SIT, Special Investigation Team the high court quoted, “It is a complete wastage of time and Paper”.

According to the Delhi HC, the investigation of Special Investigation Team of Delhi Police was a fake, wastage of time and paper. “Why the SIT was trying to protect those alleged police officers who helped Manu Sharma. It seems there is a conspiracy going on within the police force to save the accuse officials”, asked the HC to Delhi Police.

“We haven't judged your investigation report. The report is nothing but a rotten piece of paper. It is absolutely nothing. We do not know the purpose behind it. We are very-very aware what is happening. You think we do not know what's going on but we are well aware”, scolded a divisional bench of comprising Justice R S Sodhi and H R Malhotra.

The court has also admonished the Delhi Police to file a second FIR despite existing of first FIR. “This is the first case in the criminal justice system where a separate FIR has been filed in a case while an FIR was still existing. Does it not lead to safe inference that you (Delhi Police) were trying to assist the accused?”, revoked the divisional bench.

The case is likely to be heard on Thursday.

SIT was set up last year by the then Delhi Police Commissioner K K Paul for impartial investigation of this famous case that had been tarnished the prestige of Justice as all the accused had been released in February last year.
