Rival player accuses ManU's Rooney of stamping
London, Dec.11 (ANI): England striker Wayne Rooney has been accused of stamping midfielder Kasper Risgard during a Champion League match between Manchetsr United and Aalborg.
The incident took place in the 41st minute of the match, reports The Sun.
It quoted Risgard as saying: "I don't know what happened but he was jumping on my chest. I don't know why but I think he was a little frustrated. I can see the marks, big marks.
"The referee didn't say anything. I'm not sure he even saw it. Anywhere else but Old Trafford and it would have been a red card. I think referees are frightened to punish players here - and especially players like Rooney," he added.
"There was another incident when he used his arm and hurt one of our players. We could feel on the pitch they were frustrated. They were yelling at each other," he said.
Aalborg coach Allan Kuhn declared: "I think Rooney did it. I thought he looked a little bit frustrated. That's not good for a fantastic footballer like him."
United boss Alex Ferguson defended Rooney, saying: "They were trying to wind him up a bit and they were not short on their tackles either."(ANI)
