ManU may make Ronaldo 'majority of his career' offer
London, July 2 (ANI): Ace Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo will be offered the chance to prove his total commitment to Manchester United by signing up for the majority of his career.
European champions United are considering a U-turn on their hard-line stance against offering Ronaldo a new contract.
Ronaldo recently signed a five-year deal but that could be extended by two more years for more than 50million pounds once the new season has begun, with Ronaldo in United colours.
That would take Ronaldo to the age of 29, committing his best playing years to Old Trafford and diminishing any Real Madrid move in the short or even medium term.
United have so far refused to offer Ronaldo another new contract to improve his terms from 125,000 pounds a week. But their stance has mellowed in the face of Real's offer of 300,000 pounds a week tax-free.
The Daily express quoted an insider as saying that the Manchester United is now sure that Ronaldo will stay.
"It would not surprise me if they were prepared to offer Ronaldo a new contract - if not straight away then eventually - and all that remains is whether Ronaldo is ready to commit himself for that length of time," the source said. (ANI)
