World cricket would suffer if Indo-Pak series in cancelled: ACC chief
Karachi, Dec.5 (ANI): If the India -Pakistan cricket series is postponed or cancelled due to political reasons, then the game would be badly affected, said Syed Ashraful Haq, Chief Executive of Asian Cricket Council (ACC).
"Uncertain situation of the cricket series between Pakistan and India is thought provoking, but we cannot play a further role to make the series certain,"Haq said in an interview to Geo News.
The India-Pakistan series is the biggest event not only in Asia, but also in the world of cricket, and everybody wants this series to be held on time,Haq added.
The Asian Cricket Council cannot play a role in the matter as the Governments of the two nations have to deal it, he said. The series is slated to take place in January and February next year but a cloud of uncertainty looms large over it after the recent Mumbai terror attacks.
Speculations are rife that the series may be called -off. (ANI)
