Coldplay, Lil Wayne bag maximum Grammy nominations

New York, Dec 4 (IANS) British band Coldplay and American rapper Lil Wayne have earned the maximum award nominations at the 51st Annual Grammy Award Nominations.

Wayne earned eight Grammy nominations including album of the year for 'Tha Carter III', while Coldplay snagged seven Grammy nominations, including record of the year for their song 'Viva La Vida', reports Hollywood.

Other record of the year nominees at the event Wednesday night were British singer Leona Lewis, Adele, M.I.A., Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.

The awards will be held in Los Angeles Feb 8, 2009.
