Recalled Ojha says he is excited but aware of responsibility
Kolkata, Dec 4 (IANS) Recalled to the Indian Test squad for the series against England, young left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha Thursday said he was excited but aware of the big responsibility that the series could place on him.
'It's a great feeling. Every player aspires to represent the country. I would like to work hard and make my way into the first XI. I know it's a great responsibility,' Ojha told IANS by phone from Hyderabad.
The 22-year-old, who has played five ODIs, is yet to make his Test debut despite being part of the India's Test squad in Sri Lanka. He wants to continue the hard work which he has been doing over the years.
'I am very excited, but at the same time I know that I have to be sensible. Obviously I'd work hard as I have been doing, and focusing on my game,' said the former National Cricket Academy cadet.
Remembering his NCA days, he said: 'I had a long stint there. I was there in the under-17 level, as also in the under-19 level. I learnt a lot from former spinners like Erapalli Prasanna and Raghuram Bhat at the NCA.'
He was also thankful to former India left arm spinner Venkatapathy Raju, who he considers his role model.
