Mumbai terror attacks hit Bollywood

Mumbai, Dec 4 (ANI): Mumbai, home to the world's most prolific film industry popular as 'Bollywood', is hit hard after several film shoots were cancelled and work stalled after the recent terror attacks in the city.

The people remained glued to their television screen to witness the gravest militant attack in Mumbai's history and stayed away from the theatres.

Film Critic, Mayank Shekhar said that entertainment would take a back seat after these attacks.

"I think after the attacks Indians are in a mood of introspection and to a large extent entertainment would take a back seat," he added.

This largely affected the business of the film released. The film OyeLucky! Lucky Oye! which is a story of Lucky Singh who plays a loveable thief. The film made at a cost of 1.5 million rupees did a business of 15 percent and the distributors are not even expected to recover the cost.

On the other hand the film Sorry Bhai!, which had a very offbeat concept of a brother falling in love with his brother's fiancée, did not go down well with the audiences as well. The film fared badly at the box office and could just do a business of 5-7 percent.

The things will improve but will take a long time. (ANI)
