Melbourne, Dec 4 (ANI): In an attempt to clean up its content, YouTube has announced that it is cracking down on "sexually suggestive" videos.

On its blog, the popular video-sharing website, said it would be enforcing a "stricter standard for mature content" and "tightening the standard for what is considered 'sexually suggestive.'"

YouTube, the Google-owned website, has already banned users to post pornographic content on the website.

"Videos with sexually suggestive (but not prohibited) content will be age-restricted, which means they'll be available only to viewers who are 18 or older," News.com.au quoted YouTube as saying.

The website said that from now on, videos, which contain sexually suggestive content or profanity, would not be appearing in its lists of "Most Viewed" or "Top Favourited" videos.

YouTube also said that it would intensify enforcement of rules cleaning misleading descriptions in the tags and titles of a video.

There are some users who are known to give videos misleading titles such as "sexy," to increase the view counts of a particular video.

Internet's top video sharing site, which receives 13 hours of video from users every minute, said repeat violators of the new rules will have their accounts terminated. (ANI)
