Chennai Police expect England team to land on Monday

Chennai, Dec.3 (ANI): Chennai Police is expecting the England cricket team to land here on Monday to take part in the first of two Tests with India.

 

ccording to The Telegraph, the ECB's security adviser Reg Dickason has said that the ECB's security concerns have "been addressed", and therefore, there is no reason why the tour should not take place.

 

"We had security concerns, and those concerns have been addressed," said Dickason,

 

Dickason is said to have checked the route from the team hotel to the ground as well as the player's facilities at the Chennai stadium.

 

K Radhakrishnan, Chennai's Police Commissioner, said Dickason had been satisfied with the security arrangements the two discussed in a meeting this week."He was satisfied with the steps we are taking to make this tour successful," Radhakrishnan told Sky Sports News.

 

"I'm sure everything will go well and we will provide absolute security for the visiting team. I'm sure we will provide security for the team. They will arrive here on December 8," he said.

 

Dickason is also scheduled to go to Mohali to hold discussions with the Punjab Cricket Association ahead of the second Test in Mohali.

 

The first Test is due to begin on December 11. (ANI)
