India briefs envoys on Pakistan links, Mumbai terror probe
New Delhi, Dec 2 (IANS) India Tuesday briefed envoys of those countries whose nationals were killed in the terrorist attack in Mumbai about the ongoing investigations, and underlined that New Delhi expected Islamabad to act against militants based on its territory who engineered the carnage.
Vivek Katju, Special Secretary (Political and International Organisations) in the external affairs ministry, held a meeting with the envoys of those countries whose nationals were killed in the Nov 26 terror strikes and expressed India's deepest condolences to them.

'They were also informed of details of the terrorist attack and the investigation so far,' the external affairs ministry said here.
The heads of missions from Germany, Canada, Japan, Singapore, Australia, Italy, Thailand, Israel and Mauritius were present at the meeting, official sources told IANS.
As Indian security agencies unearthed more evidence that pointed to the involvement of elements from Pakistan in the Mumbai massacre, New Delhi also impressed upon the envoys the need for concrete action by Pakistan to act against those responsible for the deadly attacks that killed 183 people, including 22 foreigners.
The meeting comes a day after India served a demarche to Pakistan's High Commissioner Shahid Malik asking Islamabad to hand over 20 of India's most wanted men who are in Pakistan and are said to be behind major terror strikes in India.
New Delhi underlined its commitment to tracking down the perpetrators of the Mumbai attacks and told the envoys that although India wanted good relations with Pakistan, Islamabad must deliver on its pledge not to allow its territory to be used as a launching pad for terror strikes against India.
India's diplomatic offensive comes in response to repeated denials by Pakistan of its involvement in terror activities, and Islamabad's frenzied calls to world capitals to convince the international community of its claimed innocence.
