Assailants shoot toll tax official, loot Rs.1.3 mn in Delhi
New Delhi, Dec 1 (IANS) In a daring robbery, three motorcycle borne assailants Monday shot a toll tax official before robbing him of a bag containing Rs.1.3 million in toll tax in northwest Delhi, the police said.
The toll tax official was with three other colleagues and carrying two bags full of toll tax money, one containing Rs.

1.3 million and the other Rs. 1.9 million when the assailants snatched one of the bags as their vehicle stopped at a traffic signal in Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar on GT Karnal road around 3.15 p.m.
The official's car was waiting for the traffic signal to turn green when the assailants, who were probably following the vehicle, suddenly shot at the officials and snatched one of the bag, said a police official.
The official, identified as Ashwani, sustained an injury in the stomach. The assailants fired some shots in the air to scare away other people and fled.
Ashwani was admitted to hospital.
The police said they suspect the involvement of an insider in the robbery. A case has been registered and investigations are on.
