Election Commission orders repolling in three Delhi constituencies on Tuesday

New Delhi, Dec .1(ANI): The Election Commission of India has ordered repolling in three constituencies of Delhi Assembly which went to polls on November 29.

 

The repolling will take place on Tuesday.

 

Following the Election Commision (EC) order, repolling will be held at six booths in Malviya Nagar, two booths in Burari and in one booth in the Matiala assembly seats.. The Election Commission was not satisfied with the polling in these booths," Deputy Chief Electoral officer of Delhi J K Sharma said.

 

Sharma informed that repolling has been ordered because the Electronic Voting Machines did not work properly in some of the polling booths.

 

In other cases, polling was not held at the locations specified by the Commission. Hence the elections were invalidated by the Election Commission.

 

In Malvya Nagar, repolling will be held at booth nos. 59, 60, 62, 126, 127 while in Burari, repolling has been ordered on booth nos. 14 and 72. Repolling will also be held on booth number no. 168 in Matiala constituency of Delhi Assembly.

 

Sixty - nine assembly constituencies of Delhi went to polls on November 29.The counting of votes will take place on December 8. (ANI)
