Bill Clinton ready to mend fences with Obama
Washington, June 30 (ANI): Former U.S. President Bill Clinton may be still smarting over the outcome of the primary contests, but if sources close to him are to be believed, he is ready to pick up the phone and talk to Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama.
"This man doesn't stay mad. For Clinton, it's not all about him, definitely not," said former Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe on CNN's "Late Edition."
"Is he somewhat angry, as I am, and others, at some of the treatment Hillary Clinton received from the press? Sure. But, you know, that's life," McAuliffe said.
According to the New York Daily News, Clinton went off to Europe only to chill out in deference to Hillary Clinton, who made her first campaign appearance with Obama last Friday in Unity, New Hampshire.
McAuliffe said he spoke with Bill Clinton Sunday and he expects the former President to be ready for an Obama phone call within 24 to 48 hours.
In an online poll by blogger Marc Ambinder, more than 75 percent of the 2,292 respondents said that Obama should ask Bill Clinton politely for help, and if Clinton says no, Obama should ignore him. (ANI)
