`Freddie' Flintoff still not ready to join England squad

London, June 30 (ANI): England cricket coach Peter Moores has said that he will resist the temptation to bring in all-rounder Andrew "Freddie" Flintoff into the Test squad, which taken a beating at the hands of the Kiwis, as he believes Flintoff is not fully fit.

With the first two Tests back-to-back, Freddie might not make his England comeback until the Third Test at Edgbaston on July 30.

Flintoff, 30, had his first proper bowl yesterday since the side strain that has kept him out of England's summer campaign so far, reports The Sun.

After taking four wickets in the Twenty20 against Durham on Friday, Lancashire's Championship match at Sussex was a genuine examination of fitness. But Freddie failed to take a wicket in 15 overs, which went for 43 runs.

Moores said: "Andrew's back and bowling which is great but we are also sensible because he has to be match fit.

England has lost the one-day series to New Zealand 3-1.

In 10 ODIs against the Kiwis at home and away, England trail 6-2 with a tie and a washout - an appalling record. (ANI)
