Drugs worth 30 million rupees seized in New Delhi
New Delhi, June 29 (ANI): Police in New Delhi seized drugs worth 30 million rupees in the international market and arrested a woman and a Nigerian national on Saturday, suspected of drug smuggling.
The arrested have been identified as Hema alias Rita and Pius Onwaso Okolonta respectively.
The police recovered 3.052 kilogram of heroin from the suspects.
Alok Kumar, Deputy Police Commissioner, Delhi said, "We got a specific input on June 27 that a lady had gone to Jammu to get heroin and that she would come back to Delhi the next day to deliver it."
"A team was deployed at the metro railway station. At around 2.15 pm when this lady was delivering a drug consignment to a Nigerian national, both of them were caught," he added
Police said that Pius came to India in December 2006 on a tourist visa and has been living illegally in India since his visa had expired. (ANI)
