Nano all set to hit the market in October
Kolkata, June 28 (ANI): Tata Motors Managing Director Ravi Kant said on Saturday that Nano is all set to roll out from the Singur plant by Durga Puja in October this year.
According to Kant, who met the West Bengal Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattachary today, he had visited the Singur plant in Hooghly district of West Bengal on Friday.
Kant said there had been several challenges during the setting up of the factory in Singur. Last year floods had not only overrun cost of production but also delayed it.
Kant further added Tatas had already sunk over Rs 2000 crores in the project and were committed to the rolling out India's cheapest car from the plant by the year end.
Kant said even before production, Nano has become a hit world over with several countries, including developed ones like the USA seeking to set up Nano plants and looking for distribution of Nano within their own countries.
Kant said Nano is set to change the way one looked at private transport and would create a paradigm shift in the automobile industry. By Ajitha Menon (ANI)
