35 houses gutted in major fire in Himachal village

Shimla, Nov 25 (IANS) In a devastating fire, more than 35 houses and property worth millions of rupees were gutted in Himachal Pradesh's Kullu district Tuesday, the police said.
'More than 35 houses were destroyed in the fire in the Solang Valley near Manali,' Kullu District Superintendent of Police Jagat Ram told IANS.
Manali Subdivisional Magistrate (SDM) Rajeshwar Goel said the fire was brought under control in the evening.
'We have provided blankets, tents and woollens to those rendered homeless. They will be provided temporary shelters in nearby areas soon,' he said.
