Despite Wimbledon second round loss Sania moves to 38th in WTA ranking
July 10: Despite Wimbledon’s second round loss, Indian tennis diva Sania Mirza moves to the 38 th place of WTA ranking. She jumped to six places with 598 points in the latest WTA singles ranking.

Though, she had started with a comfortable over Russian Yaroslava Shvedova but loss to 11th seed Nadia Petrova with a straight set in Wimbledon. Earlier while entering Wimbledon contest she was ranked in the 44 th place.

In the latest ATP ranking the men’s Wimbledon finalists Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal retain their respective number No.1 and No.2 place. Semifinalists Novak Djokovic who showed some excellent match in the Wimbledon by defeating Australian and one time champion Hewitt has improve to two places and currently at No.3 while Andy Roddick slipped to one place and ranked at No.4.
