Rawalpindi, June 28 (ANI): The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) Commander General McKiernan and Pakistan Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani have agreed on closer interaction to combat militants.

They also agreed on more intelligence sharing between Pakistan and the ISAF to combat militants on both sides of the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, besides discussing co-operation in the ongoing war on terror.

It was the first interaction between the COAS and the ISAF commander following the killing of 11 Pakistani troops in a United States airstrike on June 11.

The ISAF chief also met Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee (CJCSC) General Tariq Majid.

He also called on National Security Adviser Major General (retired) Mehmud Ali Durrani and discussed with him various issues of mutual interest including the security situation along Pakistan's western border, The Daily Times reported. (ANI)
