Field Marshal Manekshaw's last rites performed with full Military honours
Wellington (Tamil Nadu), June 27 (ANI): State funeral was accorded to the late Filed Marshal Manekshaw with full military honours at the Military Regiment Centre ground in Wellington on Friday afternoon.
Seventeen guns boomed out in salute as Minister of State for Defence Pallam Raju laid the wreath on behalf of the Prime Minister and the Government of India.

On behalf of the President and the Vice President of India, Lieutenant General Thampi Raj, GEO CN laid the wreath.
Major Kinsley Dorji laid the wreath representing Royal Bhutan. Bangladesh Army, Navy and Air Force representatives, Major Alim, Lieutenant Commander Siddique and Wing Commander Shamim also paid homage.
Tamil Nadu Minister for Khadi Ramachandran, laid the wreath on behalf of Chief Minister Karunanidhi. Justice Nanavathi also paid homage.
The National flag wrapped over his body was officially handed over to his daughters. The procession reached the burial ground a few minutes ago and the ritual formalities have started.
In Tamil Nadu, all official functions were cancelled and the National Flag flew at half mast and the State Government declared a day's mourning as a mark of respect to the Field Marshal. Educational institutions in Nilgiri district also remained closed on Friday. (ANI)
