President appoints Justice Cyriac Joseph as Supreme Court Judge
New Delhi, June 27 (ANI): President Pratibha Patil has appointed Justice Cyriac Joseph, Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court as Judge of the Supreme Court.
Justice Joseph will be a Judge of the Supreme Court with effect from the date he assumes charge of his office.
Born on January 28, 1947, Justice Joseph was enrolled as advocate on October 12, 1968. He practised in the High Court of Kerala at Ernakulam.Justice Joseph worked as a Government Pleader from 1976 to 1979 and then as Senior Government Pleader from 1979 to 1987. He also served as Additional Advocate General from 1991 to 1994.
Justice Joseph was appointed a permanent Judge of the Kerala High Court with effect from July 6, 1994. He was transferred to the Delhi High Court with effect from August 5, 1994 and then transferred to the Kerala High Court on September 21, 2001. (ANI)
